Europe's biggest music party with our Black Forest hotel
After 69 years, it’s the classic of all European TV events: the Eurovision Song Contest, or ESC. It has created legends, reinvented itself time and again, and is loved across generations. When Europe's Song of the Year is crowned in Basel this May, 160 million people will be watching with excitement.
You can do what you always do and watch from the couch at home. But you don’t have to. In 2025, with our Spar mit! package, you can experience the ESC atmosphere live in Basel.
This is not just a figure of speech. Expect full-on excitement, just like last year in Liverpool. Tens of thousands of music fans from all over Europe will gather, party like crazy, and enjoy dozens of live events in the supporting program.
We have to be honest with you: tickets for the live TV shows are not available—they sold out in just two minutes. But you can still celebrate the big party in Basel. The curfew has been lifted for the whole week, and there's a spectacular program around the two semi-finals (Tuesday/Thursday) and the grand final on Saturday, May 17.
Still missing: your hotel. In the city itself, prices range from 300 to 1,500 euros per night. Ouch. That’s why we’re accommodating you just 30 km from Basel. Thanks to the KONUS guest card, you can travel for free by bus and train to Basel Badischer Bahnhof, where the Eurovision Boulevard is set up—one of several party areas.
Our Fini-Resort is the No. 1 wellness and experience hotel in the southern Black Forest. We offer top 4-star superior comfort, a huge pool, six saunas, a lovely rooftop terrace, and a wonderful hotel park with a 170-year-old sequoia tree. Perfect for winding down before or after the ESC nights. And late risers can enjoy our rich breakfast buffet until noon.
Badenweiler is also fully tuned to the ESC. The three live events will be shown on a big screen at the hotel bar. Head chef Riadh Jouini has prepared culinary specialties from participating countries. Wellness manager Hannah Karcheter has created a special “Europe massage.” And on the three big final nights, we’ll shuttle you from Basel right to the hotel door for just 30 euros.
Our ESC package with 3 nights including breakfast costs 399 euros for the semi-final dates, and 498 euros for the final weekend. That leaves plenty for wild party nights in Basel. Just a heads-up: things are a bit pricey in Switzerland—don’t be shocked. But you can start the party with great value at the hotel bar of the Fini-Resort...
ESC Basel: Switzerland’s biggest party
When Nemo won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024, the whole of Switzerland celebrated. At the end of August, the host city was announced: Basel, the third-largest city in Switzerland, will host under the motto "Crossing Borders." The city has pulled out all the stops to prepare for the big celebration. The ESC will take place at St. Jakobshalle (already sold out), and public viewings will be held at St. Jakob-Park, the city’s football stadium (also sold out). In addition, Basel will offer a wide range of concerts, parties, food trucks, and shows. Click here for more information about the program.
Eurovision Village
Usually held outdoors, the Eurovision Village 2025 will take place in Hall 1 of Messe Basel—just a short walk from Basel Badischer Bahnhof. It’s the official fan meeting point and opens on May 10. Every day from noon, there will be live concerts, public viewing, and more. Hosts include Tanja Dankner, Odette Hella’Grand, and Joël von Mutzenbecher. Admission is free. Performing artists include:
- Remo Forrer (ESC 2023 for Switzerland)
- Luca Hänni (ESC 2019 for Switzerland)
- Timebelle (ESC 2017 for Switzerland)
- Sinplus (ESC 2012 for Switzerland)
- Anna Rossinelli (ESC 2011 for Switzerland)
- Conchita Wurst (ESC 2014 winner for Austria)
- Michael Schulte & Band
- REDNEX
- SNAP!
- Participants of ESC 2025
Also featured: DJs, bands, choirs, and the “ABBA Gold – The Concert Show.” Many performances will be announced last-minute. Entry is tightly controlled.
The Messe will also host the Euro Café and Euro Club, where after-show parties take place every night from 11:00 p.m.
Eurovision Boulevard & Street
The Eurovision Boulevard connects Basel Badischer Bahnhof with the Swiss SBB station. Bars and restaurants along the route will be open 24/7, and food trucks will keep hungry fans fueled. Street musicians will perform along the entire boulevard from 1:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Rhine promenade with its "Buvetten" is also part of the scene. The Steinenvorstadt begins directly at Eurovision Square/Barfüsserplatz and is Basel’s main party strip, with food trucks and busking stages to entertain the crowds.
Eurovision Square
The Barfüsserplatz in the city center is the heart of the ESC. A large stage will host daily concerts from May 10 to 17. Admission is free. Each day has a different theme:
- Saturday, May 10: Pop & Soul Day
- Sunday, May 11: Jazz Day
- Monday, May 12: Funk & Brass Day
- Tuesday, May 13: Classical & Crossover Day
- Wednesday, May 14: Eurovision Day
- Thursday, May 15: Pop & Karaoke Day
- Friday, May 16: Hip Hop Day
- Saturday, May 17: Party Day
Our tip: There are also events around Basel. In Weil am Rhein on May 14, Germany’s first ESC winner Nicole will perform. The ESC Festival in Weil lasts a whole week and offers even more program highlights.
