Two Worlds, One Holiday: Father Rhine and Black Forest Summit
In the southwest, at the very bottom left of the map, Germany is particularly beautiful. Always a few degrees warmer, the most hours of sunshine, almost Mediterranean flair. .Let's start down by the Rhine, which is only 13 km away from the hotel by the shortest route in Neuenburg. It's half an hour to Breisach on the Rhine, right on the French border, the heaviest town opposite is called Neuf-Brisach, also well worth a visit. At noon every day at 11.30 a.m., the "MS Weinland Baden", the comfortable passenger ship of the Breisach shipping company, is waiting for you on the bank. Enjoy the two-hour trip on the Rhine, the Altrhein, the canals and the Vogelgrüner Schleuse lock - very spectacular!
And then we whisk you away to the rugged, unique mountain world of the Upper Black Forest. The Belchen is also only 35 km from the hotel, but it takes a little longer because of the many curves and 800 metres of difference in altitude. The cable car takes you from Schönau to the summit of the Belchen at a crisp 1,414 metres. Please take a jacket with you. The Belchen is not the very highest Black Forest peak, but it is the most beautiful panoramic mountain because of its unique panoramic view all the way to the Alps.
